Chinese jumprope is a game played with a very large elastic cord, joined together like a circle. The elastic cord (the "jumprope") was was stretched into a long rectangle, with four corners held stable, above the ground, usually on the ankles of two children, or by corners of two chairs.

Players jumped in and out of the rectangle, catching the elastic on thier feet in elaborate patterns, much like cat's cradle, which is played with hands and string.
